Overview

A proof-of-capability project demonstrating that Tooling, the Unity-based training application authoring system, could be used to recreate an existing client iOS training application. The recreated application reproduced the original training experience using the modules and content created through Tooling, providing a practical validation of the system’s capabilities.

My Role

I worked part-time this project as the sole developer over approximately two months while simultaneously developing Tooling. Responsible for recreating the client’s existing application and validating the capabilities of the Tooling system.

My Contributions

  • Recreated the client’s existing training application using Tooling, creating and configuring the required training modules and their content.
  • Recreated the application’s visual presentation by extracting the original application’s art assets and integrating them into the new application.
  • Used the existing functionality provided by Tooling to reproduce the majority of the application’s UI and core training behaviour without requiring bespoke implementation.
  • Identified and fixed bugs within Tooling discovered during the recreation process.
  • Manually compared the recreated application against the original application side by side to verify that the training experience matched.
  • Tested every recreated training module to validate content, progression, and functionality.
  • Conducted extensive on-device testing of the recreated application.
  • Successfully demonstrated that Tooling could reproduce the client’s existing training application, validating the system as a viable platform for producing future training applications.
